Twitter haiku

I spend a lot of time, probably too much, on Twitter – my handle  is @littlefluffycat – and from time to time I like to write haiku there.  Here are all the ones I can find.

Wisdom is not a

function of age, but of a

questing, loving heart — a birthday haiku for a young philosopher

light the candles for

death, for sorrow, for joy, for

birth–all beginnings

I asked the cat why

cats slept all day – she said “hush,

we are dreaming you.”

as the sun sank rays

turned the adobe gold and

Spanish hoofbeats rang — someone’s picture reminded me of a memory of a pueblo at sunset

Sisyphus cleans the

beach, leans on his broom, dreams of

a simple boulder. – written the day BP  tarballs were reported on my home beach in Pensacola

how fast a year goes

we counted it in dance steps

we sang all the words — first anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death

If I added all

the said things and the unsaid

there would be silence – strangely enough, a response to the first season finale of Syfy’s “Caprica”.

Across twitter the

Walton chorus rings “good night!”

“love you!” “mwah!” “hugs!”

in the quiet, smile

at the sound of the cat’s purr

from across the room

We look in mirrors

and see each other, hear each

others’ hearts beat now

In the dark, the broken dark, bring hope

to the hearts, the battered hearts, bring peace

to the world, the jaded world, brotherhood;

amen, amen  –A prayer for Haiti

We save each other

with hugs & words

sometimes with money

at great distances & nearby

we hear each other’s hearts beat, now — early draft , later became haiku

May all the people you have met

and all the ones you haven’t yet

be, all of them, a gentle net

to cradle you in love — a blessing, originally tweeted to Amanda Palmer
